Everybody has a hot take. What’s yours?

Touch Grasss presents Hear Me Out: Hot Takes & Unpopular Opinions, an interactive social experience where bold opinions take center stage — and the audience gets the final say.

We’re selecting 10 presenters brave enough to defend a hot take or unpopular opinion in front of a live audience. But this isn’t your typical panel or serious debate night.

The audience is part of the show.

You’ll hear the take, cast your initial vote, hear the presenter make their case, challenge their perspective, and then vote AGAIN to see whether they actually changed your mind.

Expect wild opinions, hilarious arguments, unexpected perspectives, audience reactions, friendly debates, music, drinks, and plenty of opportunities to meet and connect with new people.

And there’s something on the line: the presenter who shifts the most opinions throughout the night will win a special prize!

You don’t have to agree.

You just have to hear them out.

We’re looking for 10 presenters who have an unpopular opinion and enough personality, perspective, humor, or reasoning to make an entire room reconsider what they thought they believed.

You don’t have to be a professional speaker.

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room.

Extroverts, introverts, professional debaters, and people who have been quietly arguing the same point in the group chat for three years — we want to hear from you.

Selected presenters will have approximately 7 minutes TOTAL and a 3–5 slide PowerPoint to introduce their take, make their case, interact with the room, and find out whether they were convincing enough to shift the audience.

There is no event admission fee for selected presenters.

If you’re chosen as one of our 10 presenters, your complimentary admission is included as part of your participation in the event.

Applying does not guarantee free admission. You must be officially selected as a presenter.

Because each presenter is an important part of the experience, we ask that you only apply if you’re available September 27 and can commit to completing the presentation requirements and attending the event.

What exactly is Hear Me Out?

Think PowerPoint party meets friendly debate meets social experiment. Ten selected presenters will take the stage with a hot take or unpopular opinion and attempt to convince the room that their perspective might actually make sense. But you’re not coming just to watch. You’re coming to judge. Vote, react, challenge arguments, debate with the people around you, and help us determine who actually deserves to win.

How does it work?

Each presenter starts by revealing their hot take. STEP 1: THE TAKE Hear their unpopular opinion. STEP 2: FIRST VOTE Before hearing their argument, the room votes AGREE or DISAGREE. STEP 3: HEAR ME OUT Now they get a chance to explain themselves. STEP 4: THE HOT SEAT The room gets an opportunity to react and challenge the argument. STEP 5: FINAL VERDICT Everybody votes again. Did they actually change anyone’s mind? We’ll compare the votes throughout the night to determine who successfully shifted the room the most.

Do I have to present to attend?

Absolutely not! Most guests will attend as audience members. Come vote, laugh, react, challenge the presenters, grab a drink, meet new people, and decide whether any of these hot takes can actually change your mind.

What kind of hot takes should we expect?

That’s part of the surprise. Expect conversations around things like: Dating & relationships Friendship Music & entertainment Food Social media Work & money Lifestyle Pop culture Social norms …and those completely random opinions people somehow feel VERY strongly about. Some takes might have you nodding immediately. Others might have the entire room yelling: “AIN’T NO WAY.” Either way, we’re hearing them out.

Is this a serious debate?

Not exactly. This is meant to be fun, social, interactive and entertaining. Presenters can use stories, humor, examples, experiences, “evidence,” and whatever else helps them make their case. Our biggest rule is simple: Challenge the opinion, not the person. Disagreement is encouraged. Disrespect isn’t.

Can the audience challenge the presenters?

YES. We actually want you to. Audience participation is what makes Hear Me Out different. You’ll have opportunities to react, question arguments, and make presenters defend their takes before the final vote. Just keep it fun and respectful.

Is there a winner?

YES! We’re tracking how the audience feels before and after hearing each presenter’s argument. The person who successfully shifts the room’s perspective the most will receive a special prize and the title of: BEST ARGUMENT OF THE NIGHT

How do I become a presenter?

Submit a presenter application with your proposed hot take and a brief explanation of why you think you can defend it. We’re selecting 10 presenters. If selected, you’ll prepare a short 3–5 slide PowerPoint and receive approximately 7 minutes TOTAL during the event to make your case and interact with the room. Applications close September 6.

Do presenters have to buy a ticket?

No! Our 10 selected presenters receive complimentary admission to the event. However, submitting an application does not count as event admission. Complimentary admission is only provided once you’ve been officially selected and confirmed as a presenter. If you aren’t selected but still want to experience Hear Me Out, we’d LOVE to have you join us in the audience by purchasing a ticket.

What am I committing to if I’m selected as a presenter?

Our presenters are a major part of the night’s experience, so we’re looking for people who can commit to the process. If selected, you’ll be expected to: • Attend Hear Me Out on September 27 • Prepare a 3–5 slide presentation • Submit your presentation to Touch Grasss in advance • Make any necessary revisions before the event • Arrive early on event day for check-in and technical preparation • Stay within your approximately 7-minute TOTAL time slot We’ll provide selected presenters with the complete instructions and deadlines.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. That’s kind of our thing. Touch Grasss is about getting people out of the house, off the screen, and around other people. Come with your friends or pull up solo. There will be opportunities throughout the evening to socialize and meet people.

Will there be time to socialize?

YES. This isn’t a three-hour lecture. The night is designed to combine the Hear Me Out experience with the social atmosphere Touch Grasss events are known for. You’ll have opportunities to mingle, discuss the takes, meet people, grab a drink, and enjoy the night.

What should I wear?

Come casual, cute and comfortable. There’s no formal dress code. Just come ready to socialize, take pictures, and enjoy yourself.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open at 6:00 PM. We recommend arriving early so you have time to check in, get settled, grab a drink, and meet some people before the main experience begins.
